Some devices can be configured to prevent data connections being enabled or not allow data to flow if the device is in a particular country or Geographic location.
This can be an "odd" or "difficult" fault to identify if you are not familiar with GeoLocation blocking on your device.
GeoLocation is NOT a SIM function. GeoLocation block is a setting or function on some devices. Please check your device configuration manual or guide. We are unable to assist with any GeoLocation block setting as it is not a SIM related matter.
If GeoLocation blocking has been set for a particular country or countries, you might see data flow on a certain port, but not on another. It may also manifest itself if your device is set to only work in a particular country and it moves to another country and stops working.
For example, if a vehicle tracker is in Greece and GeoLocation is blocked for all other countries, if the vehicle moves in to, say Albania, it will stop sending data. If the vehicle then returns to Greece, data will start to flow.
Another example could be that a device is in the UK and using a particular port. Data will flow on, lets sat Port 80, but not on 10000. If GeoLocation is enabled and a SIM is used with, lets say, an Irish IMSI, then data will not flow if GeoLocation blocking is enabled on all but the UK. Removing GeoLocation Blocking will allow data to flow.
The above assumes that you have set the APN (Access POint Name) correctly and have all other settings configured correctly with your device and server.
GeoLocation Block, geographic blocking, DATA does not work, No data connection, Geographical location block
